From preparation to submission

  1. Check the terms

    Read the eligibility requirements and the funding breakdown before deciding to apply.

  2. Prepare the requested materials

    New York Foundation for the Arts will specify the documents, portfolio requirements, file formats, limits and application language. These requirements have not yet been published.

  3. Apply through New York Foundation for the Arts

    Use the direct application link here once it has been confirmed. Applications will be handled by New York Foundation for the Arts through Submittable.

  4. Keep your submission confirmation

    Follow the instructions to complete your submission and save the confirmation you receive. Notification arrangements for all applicants are to be confirmed.

After selection: practical steps

The acceptance deadline; arrangements for the alternate; notification to unsuccessful applicants; payment procedures; and any required paperwork or reporting. Selection of the recipient and alternate is expected around mid-February 2027, as already announced.

After selection

The recipient and alternate are expected to be notified promptly after selection. A public announcement date and notification arrangements for other applicants have not yet been confirmed. Prompt notification will give the recipient and alternate time to arrange travel, housing and other practical details before April.
